With the first year of the Just Start IT program, we were very excited as this phenomenal experience drew to a close, especially for the students. It all ended last Monday night at Bankwest Place where 16 WA high school teams competed and pitched their ideas for the major prize and exposure to some potential investors.
We expect that next year will be even bigger and better as we know there has been massive interest from afar. So congratulations to Lainey Weiser and Matt Pontel for starting this awesome program and Curtin Uni (School of Information Systems) for allowing it to happen, and we look forward to being involved again in future.
We are calling out to other companies and mentors that can really help out and promote innovation and creativity in our younger generation and stop the “brain drain”. So we expect more of you there next year, whether it be sponsoring, prizes, providing mentors or taking the ideas to reality.
